About Karting Liga

Karting Liga was established in the winter of 2021 as a hobby project, an idea to revive affordable, amateur racing in Serbia.

The main goal was, as it still is, to spend a lot of good, quality and fun time at the track, with the most fun races we can have! Lead by that pure idea, this league grew from day 1, and with the help of its own drivers it become what it is today - the biggest and the most competitive amateur karting league in Serbia & beyond.

About Racing

As part of the 2026 season of the AKLS Karting Liga, we are going to organize 6 racing events that are counted towards the this years' championship.

Tracks that are in the calendar are: Kula (twice), Autokomerc, Kecskemet and two new tracks this year - Koper in Slovenia & Circuit27 near Thessaloniki in Greece.

Number of drivers available to participate varies from 48 up to 90 for each individual event.

Apart from the general championship, we are following also a subclass for XL people (drivers heavier than 90 kg), but regardless of the class they belong to, all drivers are mixed together on the track.

How does our racing event look like?

Every driver of the AKLS Karting Liga will have qualifying sprint + 4 separate races during the day, regardless of their placement. Three group races and a final one.

Last Wednesday before the weekend of the race, on leagues' Discord server you can follow live draw for the race qualifiers. All drivers first go on track in their drawn qualifiers group, set a lap time in the hot-lap fashion, and based on those lap times get drawn into racing groups. Based on these laps if i.e. there are 12 drivers per group, 12 of the fastest drivers go into group 1, and starting positions are based on the lap time they achieved in the hot-lap qualy. Rest of the groups get populated in the same manner, where 13th man from qualies gets the pole position in group 2, and the rest of the drivers go on the laptime order.

Each group race gives driver points based on the level of group and their result, and based on each race result drivers can advance to a group above or be relegated to a group bellow. Starting position for next race is determined by the fastest lap they did in the previos race compared to the other drivers that are now in that newly formed group. Cicle is repeated for the three group races after which, based on points gathered, drivers are placed into an adequate Finals group (A, B, C1, C2), where their starting position will be determined based on the points gathered from the group races.

Duration of the races?

Races are either 10 laps or ten minutes calculated in number of laps of a specific track (i.e 12 in Kula).

Track arrival

When a driver arrives at the track, he has to notify on the of the organizers that he is here, and ready to race. This confirms his participation and he then proceeds to do the pre-race measurements.

All the drivers are weighted to have at least 85 kg for the race. Drivers that are lighter will drive with additional weights.

Duration of the event?

Plan to spend between 5 and 6 hours to spend on the track from the agreed track arrival.
